Literature Text

It was a mystery to you. Standing in the cold, with the lights of lanterns reflecting from your cheeks, you stared out into the crowd, who seemed to avoid you more as time passed on. You never considered yourself to be truly repulsive, at least no to where you should be avoided to such amplitude; and according to a certain bald gentleman, there were two people that you definitely knew to have a crush on you, one was Nac, and the other you only knew that they secretly harbored feelings for you. Surely if they found you attractive, some others must have. That's why you didn't understand exactly why no one came to your booth.

“I told those idiots I didn't want to do this,” you hissed between deep breaths of chilly night air and shivered in place, fervently rubbing your shoulders to build some type of warmth. Your time was not only being wasted, it was being wasted in the cold. You were going to kill Christa for suggesting this, and then maybe kill Levi...or at least attempt to and blame it on Connie when you failed.

Shortly, you noticed Nac Tius, a boy with dark comb-backed hair that spiked towards the end along with his friend Mylius. The dark haired boy was the one who liked you, according to Connie when he blurted out the, until then, well kept secret out loud one day. Ever since the two of you hadn't talked much, but you had definitely knew he was still deeply infatuated with you. The two of you caught each other eyes, dark brown meeting [e/c], and you smiled slightly from someone finally giving you some attention. Even from the distance you were, you could tell that he was  blushing though he gave you a large dorky grin. It was almost cute.

That cute grin quickly went sour, and his eyes widened with the utmost look of horror, as did Mylius', and the two friends shared a look of apprehension. Nac mouthed something that you didn't understand—you couldn't exactly read lips—and he took a step forward before stopping, as if he changed his mind, and was oddly focused on the archway that lead down to the area.

Leaning on the arch was a woman dressed in loose fitting jeans and a dark hoodie that hid her face; strands of blonde hair sculpted her face, blocking her expression from your view, but you could feel the evil aura emanating from her and it made chills run up your spine. No wonder it was so cold, you thought, staring at the woman still. Nac had long ran off from the scene, you didn't blame him; that chick was majorly creepy.

Suddenly, her face turned towards you, and you hotly look away after realizing you had been staring at her for so long. It's minutes for you lift your gaze again, still feeling her eyes on your body, and the two of your eyes meet. Light blonde hair, a low, sloping nose, and blue eyes that could peer straight through the soul, that's when you knew who it was.

“Annie?” you yelled loudly for her to hear, but not enough to draw attention from anyone who wasn't looking for your voice. Her face unscrewed from the pissed gaze she must have been giving Nac, and she roughly tugged her hood further to block her face and made a move for the exit. You swung open the door to your booth and chased after her through the crowd.

You pushed and shoved your way through the people, barely having time to quickly stammer apologies, as you followed the dark grey blur that was Annie. “Annie! Where are you going?” you yelled and made a reach for her, grabbing her shoulder and forcing her to turn and face you. “Finally,” you panted,  and Annie stared, her eyes scanning the area for another escape. “Please, don't run again.”

“What's up with the whole drug dealer look?” you asked curiously.

“I always dress like this. You're the one who needs a question in dress. Skirts in February? The person whoever decided that you wear that is a sorry excuse for an event planner,” she answered, trying to convince you with one of her this-is-bullshit-sighs. She gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and frown. “Is that all you wanted?”

“No, actually,” you blurted. “Why were you giving Nac such an ugly look? Did something happen between you two?”

“It's nothing you should be concerned about,” she insisted. “You don't need to worry about me.” The two of you lingered in silence. Annie was the first to break eye contact, solemnly looking at her feet before turning away from you.

You were drawn back to that incident in the cafeteria when Connie was going on about the upcoming holiday over lunch, loudly as usual. The boy always chewed with his mouth open and made annoying smack sounds. You had quickly clamped his mouth shut to stop him from spewing food and told him to shut up.

"You're just upset about being single on Valentines day," he had accused you when you honestly just had rather not been spat on. You rolled your eyes and returned to ignoring his words and thinking more on your ruined evening. "Don't worry, [Name]," he patted your back hard, making you choke on your coke. "There's people who like you. I mean Nac has had a crush on you since second grade!

Before you could reply, the sound of hands slamming against wood stopped you. "Springer!" Nac called out and marched his way over to ring the short teen's neck.

"O-Oi! Let go of me!" Connie yelled. "If anything I did you a favor. You were never going to tell her how you felt."

You and Nac glanced at each other, blushing. Him from having you know that he likes you, and you from not knowing how to deal with a conversation of someone confessing to you. Suddenly, Connie pushed Nac forward, stopping the awkward exchange. "You should go ahead and get together. You're not the only one. It's only a matter of time before A--"

That's when from what seems like nowere, an apple raced across the cafeteria and struck Connie dead center in the head. There was a silence over the room as Connie cursed loudly and turned to face his assailant. "What the hell did you do th-a..." he went silent when he saw Annie just a few meters away.

You looked into the eyes of Annie, dark and distant as always, and the look refused to leave her face until she caught your eye and forced her gaze elsewhere, while Connie only complained about his wounded head and was silent the rest of lunch.

“Annie, do...you like me?” you asked quietly, as she tries to walk away. The blonde girl stopped. You decided to take the chance to delve further into her mind. “Is that why no ones been visiting me, because you've been giving them death looks?”

“...And if it is?” she asked, without moving a muscle.

You swallowed down your nerves and said, “I-I just wanted you to know that I like you, too.” Annie turned to speak but was cut off by your lips. You worked and pressed your lips to hers left unmoving from shock, causing you to pull away somewhat defeated. "I'm sorry. Have a good night, Annie."

"Wait!" she pulled you back to her, capturing your mouth in a forceful and surprisingly lively kiss. Her mouth was warm despite the cold words that came from it at times, and she was more gentle with this than with her other actions in the past. Annie pulled away all to soon; a soft smile slowly curved her lips upwards, barely visible on her face.

"I do...like you."

Here's the much requested Annie Leonhardt. Next is Connie Springer! Then, probably Erwin, but definitely Connie next. Woot~ Woot~ Reader taking initiative. I do love awkward silences. That picture is mucho sexy right. Man, Annie is a lady killer~ I just want you guys to know, I love you all and the feedback for this series. x3
